What an Inspiration

Saturday night, we decided to have date night at a cute little restaurant here in Miami Beach. We walked around to several places -- French, Italian, Brazilian -- but all were too expensive for our budget. We spotted a small Cuban restaurant near our house that wasn't too expensive and seated ourselves. As we were sitting there, a man walked up to Tommy and said, "It's too bad your not a Utes fan." We looked up at an unfamiliar face and laughed. Seated at the table next to us were two couples, one man sporting a BYU shirt just like Tommy. The LDS couples were here from Washington and Utah to go on a cruise for their 20 and 25 year anniversaries! How exciting!

We chatted for a few minutes while the server printed their bill. As they got up to leave, one man walked over to Tommy and shook his hand, wishing us luck on our internship and then quickly left. When the man pulled his hand away, something fell to the table... we looked down to see a ONE HUNDRED DOLLAR BILL!!!! Too stunned and shocked to chase the man who had already left the restaurant and say thank you, Tommy just stared off -- eyes and mouth wide open in disbelief.

Can you believe that? The couple didn't even know us...but they gave us $100 bucks! We sat there in complete shock for at least ten minutes, talking about WHAT AN INSPIRATION they were. We are so touched with their willingness to give so freely. We hope to NEVER forget how we felt that night. I hope we are examples of service like this family!!!
