FIRE FIRE FIRE!!!

In the scene below, count two windows to the right and that's our apartment window...
only feet from the FIRE!!!

Around 2 am last night, a car alarm kept going off. SO annoying... Finally, after trying to block out the sound, I got up and looked out the window. And guess what I see? A FIRE!!! ten feet from our window! I threw on my shoes, put my glasses on and ran outside to make sure what I was seeing was for real.

As real as it gets, a car was blazing in fire with GAS poured all over the ground.
This was no accident.

Heart pounding.

Stomach instantly sick.

I rushed inside and told Tommy to call 911, as I sat down to calm myself.

Firemen were on their way.
WHEW!!!

I grabbed my phone (most precious thing I have...and to take pictures, of course) as we headed outside to get farther from the fire. On our way out, Tommy pulled the fire alarm....and said smiling, "I've always wanted to do that!" What a goof.

We stood across the street as two police officers arrived on the scene, followed only minutes later by a fire truck. By now, the flames were blaring ten feet above the car, blackening the building in front of it (thankfully not ours). Within minutes the fire was put out and we went back inside. The firemen lingered around checking the garage and building to make sure it was all out.

What a RUSH!

Not a way I'd like to wake up every morning.

Tommy crawled back into bed while I sat on a chair staring out the window at the firemen. The need for sleep had left me. Wide awake i sat, thanking Heavenly Father for the prompting to look out the window.

Once again, the Lord has watched over and protected us.

WOW! What a story. Glad you two are OK. THat would totally have freaked me out. Did they ever find out what caused the car to be on fire...?
